Welcome to Longstride Training Center!
Longstride Training Center is a full service equine boarding and training operation located in Florida's horse country. Trainers Bill and Kim Deaton have over forty years of experience working with thoroughbreds.
Bill Deaton built Longstride Training Center in Mercer County, Kentucky, in 1968 as a breaking and training operation for young thoroughbreds. Soon after, he installed the first central Kentucky swimming pool for horses and began to rehabilitate post -surgery patients for racetrack veterinarians. Through the years, Bill has innovated regimes in uphill strength-training and water therapy walking. In 2008, Longstride Training Center relocated to Oakridge Equine in Morriston, Florida. Bill and Kim Deaton now break and train young thoroughbreds using a modified training program based on research at The New Bolton Center. They have had significantly great results preparing strong, sound, ready to race youngsters for the Florida circuit.
Kim and Bill are dedicated to excellence and will work hard for you and your horses!
